I became licensed to sell Real Estate in 2006 after spending a decade in the field of energy conservation consulting. Having audited nearly 5000 homes across the state of Montana, I had gained a comprehensive understanding of residential construction and invaluable perspective on buildings of all vintages. That professional background turned out to provide an unexpected yet practical foundation for a career in real estate.

In 2020, fourteen years after joining Big Sky Brokers, I was presented with the opportunity to help lead the company; and became one of four owners of Helena’s top-producing real estate firm.

On a personal note, I’m a down-to-earth Helenan; connected to the community. I love to spend time on the water and hike with my dogs, Zoka and Ginger. I grew up in the mountains of rural western Montana, moved to Helena in my early 20’s, and have lived right in the heart of our beautiful Queen City ever since. I am steadfast in supporting local businesses, attending local music & community events, and enjoy cooking and gathering with friends. My husband and I have one fabulously independent and adventurous teenage son. Now more than ever, I understand that priorities change as life unfolds.

I applaud preservation and restoration of Helena’s lovely historic buildings and love to see the eclectic mix of architecture – from historic victorians to mid-century ranchers to the occasional contemporary home sprouting up on an infill lot.

I also have extensive experience exploring our outlying areas and representing buyers and sellers of rural real estate seeking to leave behind the commotion of the city and indulge in some privacy and elbow room. The nice thing about the Helena area is there are many neighborhoods that satisfy both urban and rural cravings at the same time! Over the past 20+ years, my husband and I have taken on a lot of interesting DIY projects, including remodel/restoration of a mid-century concrete home, a 70’s A-Frame, a giant 1800’s stone Appleton Victorian, and an 1800’s Queen Anne duplex. Our more unusual recreational real estate projects have been converting a large garage to a modern cabin on the river and building an off-grid cabin out of a repurposed grain bin in the Castle Mountains at 8,000 ft elevation, 10 miles from pavement, and 30 miles from cell service!

In 2012 we were honored with a Lewis and Clark County Historic Preservation Award. I like to think that this is evidence that (I am not just a glutton for punishment, but also) that I can recognize and help clients rationally evaluate the potential in every property. I’m not just all about the old quirky properties though, I absolutely love (thoughtfully designed) new construction and am wrapping up what I hope is our final project, a super contemporary and energy efficient new build on the edge of the hills just a few blocks south of downtown.

In 2015 I began my career in real estate at Big Sky Brokers, by way of my Mother/Mentor Maureen Oelkers (Broker/Owner). The world has gotten smaller due to technology and the internet, but technology doesn’t trump experience. I have been a real estate agent/broker for 25 years. When the market is very strong and there are multiple offer situations, or when you receive an involved Home Inspection Report to negotiate, you need an agent who has experience in finding solutions, not someone who is going to “google” for the solutions. Welcome to Big Sky Brokers!  About me – I was born and raised in Havre, MT.  After high school I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN for a year as I tried to find a direction for “grown up” life.  I returned to my home state to attend MSU Bozeman where I pursued a degree in Business Management.  After earning my degree, I worked in banking and healthcare before returning to MSU for post-graduate studies in Political Science/Public Administration.  In 1995 I moved to Helena to be closer to family and fell in love with all that Helena has to offer.

My contractor husband and I live on a small hay farm in the north valley with some cows, dog, cats and chickens.  Our human family includes three grown children with families of their own. All three were raised here and I appreciate that this community offers such great schools, recreational and cultural opportunities.  It’s hard to keep a good secret and so over the years I’ve shared with anyone who will listen how wonderful it is to live here.  In these changing times I feel like we’ll see positive growth as people continue to discover the Helena area and make it their choice for first and second homes.  We have a good and stable economy that seems insulated from the booms and bust/ups and downs that other communities have experienced.

My experience ranges from single to multi-family residential, condo living to commercial and investment properties.  I specialize in new construction, residential and condo listings.  Partly because of being involved in agriculture I’m keenly interested in water rights, water quality, septic and waste-water systems.  I’m knowledgeable and a good resource for information on building and construction in Lewis & Clark and Jefferson Counties.

I was born into a family of home-lovers and grew up in the greater Seattle area. My father built homes and my grandmother decorated them, so I was introduced to real estate and design at an early age. In 2003, I moved to Helena to attend Carroll College, studying international business and marketing. While attending Carroll College, I began my real estate career as the marketing specialist for Windermere Real Estate–Helena. That experience inspired me to earn my real estate license and pursue a career helping clients navigate one of the most important decisions of their lives.

I’m a native Montanan, raised in Helena. After graduating from Capital High School, I went on to get my Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Studies from Portland State University. I consider Portland my second home. However, my love of travel and adventure then took me to South Korea where I taught English at a public elementary school. In Korea, I met my husband and we decided to move back to Helena and start our family. My husband, Sunil Mistry, hails from West Yorkshire, UK and we love traveling there to see family. We have three beautiful and wild children.

I joined the Big Sky Brokers team in 2015 and started doing Real Estate with my mother Linda Crofts. Though we are now both brokers we continue to take the team approach. Our mantra is ‘two heads are better than one’. Working as a team allows us to always be available to our clients and in the high-stakes world of real estate time really is of the essence. Meet Riley Kurtz – a Montana native and proud graduate of Montana State University in Bozeman.  Riley pursued his real estate license in May of 2020 and quickly realized it was exactly what he wanted out of a career. An education degree combined with a background in banking and lending parlayed perfectly into helping clients with all the various aspects and considerations when buying or selling real estate. I grew up on the Hi-line of Montana and learned the value of honesty, hard work, and integrity – all of which are the cornerstones of my professional career. I come from a long line of hard working, tough, independent women. My great-grandmother and her two sisters picked up from Minnesota and moved to the Havre area to homestead in the early 1900s. Through perseverance and dedication, they became the first three Registered Nurses in Montana. I was fortunate enough to know my great grandparents, experience their work ethic and learn first-hand the value of honesty, endurance and true grit.

While I was born and raised in Montana, I wanted to see the world and embarked on several adventures as soon as I graduated from Havre High School. I worked in a fish cannery in Alaska for a time, meeting and working with people from all over the world. One summer while at University of Montana, I sold educational books door-to-door in Kentucky and Ohio, capping off the summer by driving to the east coast to see the country. I had never even been on a toll road before and there I was, trying to navigate New York City traffic by myself! But Montana called me back home. I lived in Missoula for seven years, while attending both U of M and the College of Technology, where I received my Culinary Arts certificate and met my wonderful husband Craig. We moved to Helena in 1997 and love everything about this area! This community has so much to offer!

I have had a few careers in my life, but the common denominator in all of them is customer service. I have been working in customer service for 35 years because I love connecting with people! In my 14 years as a certified optician at Montana Eyecare in Helena, I developed many valuable relationships with customers who I can now honestly call my friends. I enjoy working with people to help them meet their goals. Real estate is a natural progression for me – developing relationships in order to help people with one of the most important transactions of their lives!

In my free time you will find me enjoying this beautiful state boating, fishing, swimming, camping, mountain biking, hiking or tinkering in the garage with my newest hobby – welding furniture and art. My name is Marcia Ellermeyer and although not born and raised in Montana, my roots here are strong. My father was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana. After graduating from the University of Montana in Missoula, he married my mom and decided to leave the state to explore opportunities on both the east and west coasts. I grew up mostly in western Pennsylvania, and yes, I am a die-hard Steeler and Penguins fan! In 1994, my husband John and I decided to move west. We moved to Helena to be near family and the rest is a dream come true. We are so lucky to live and work in this wonderful community!

For the last 20 years I have worked as a licensed insurance producer, and I have a wide range of experience in sales and marketing with a focus on building strong relationships and customer loyalty. In addition, my husband and I have many years of experience in real estate investment and development, having navigated the subdivision process with the county and sold multiple spec homes. My experience, both personally and professionally, has prepared me for this new chapter and I am so excited to be focusing exclusively on real estate. Even more thrilling is the opportunity to advise and guide others through this exciting process.

While building a successful career and family, I have also served on the School Board for East Helena Public Schools for over 20 years. I am fortunate to be part of the growth and development of East Helena, most recently guiding the school through the transition from a K-8 to a K-12 district, building a new elementary school and finally building a new high school. I am grateful to be a part of this incredible school district and community.

I spend my spare time with friends and family enjoying the beautiful state of Montana, planning the next travel adventure, and watching football and hockey.

Just a small-town girl, Brooke grew up in Geraldine, MT before pursuing her Health Enhancement degree at Montana State University- Bozeman. Lynnette Sena is a military wife of a twenty-three-year active-duty Army veteran. She knows what it means to relocate and knows the importance of working with an agent who has your best interest at heart. Lynnette has personally been through the buying and selling process ten times and has changed addresses sixteen times in the military. In addition, Lynnette grew up in an Air Force family and altogether has lived in ten states and four countries, to include Germany, Italy and Poland.

After experiencing so many wonderful places to live around the world, Lynnette and her husband, Cory, chose Helena as their forever home. Cory is from Boulder, and both are thankful to be so close to family. Cory and Lynnette’s son and daughter both graduated from Helena High School and went on to continue their education at the University of Montana.

Lynnette graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Aviation Science. Lynnette’s early career was as a flight instructor and then as an airline pilot for a regional airline, Chautauqua Airlines/USAirways Express. She also has work experience at a non-profit residential wilderness camp for youth, as a church office administrator, and as a wedding venue owner/operator–just to name a few.

I grew up in the rural western Montana town of Thompson Falls, moved to Missoula in 2001, and later graduated from the University of Montana with a B.A. in Psychology. I went on to get a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, and have helped manage retirement housing communities for the last 17 years.

I recently decided to work towards a new goal that combined my love of real estate and finance, and complimented my work in housing. In early 2024, I became a licensed real estate salesperson with Big Sky Brokers, helping to expand their area of expertise into my city, Missoula! My sister, Freda Wilkinson, is a Broker/Owner and has been with Big Sky Brokers for 18 years. I’m eager to combine my energy and enthusiasm with her experience and expertise to ensure that each transaction is handled with utmost professionalism. 

I have bought, remodeled, and sold multiple properties in Missoula. Through these experiences, my knowledge of construction and home maintenance has grown exponentially. I enjoy leveraging this knowledge to help buyers evaluate potential and resale, and help sellers prepare their homes for a successful listing. A proud former #37 for the University of Montana football team, there isn’t a town in Montana where you won’t find someone who has had an interaction with Ryan. Always eager to lend a hand, he is the current board chair for the United Way of the Lewis & Clark Area, along with the booster club president for the East Helena High Vigilantes. He’s also an active member of the Elkhorn working management group for the past 5 years. Depending on the season you’re sure to find him picking elk sheds or with his bow in hand. With a background in teaching and coaching, Ryan loves helping others to reach their goals.
